Message From Pastor Jim 1-22-2010

Today is day 21 of our fast as we reflect on the last 21 days I want you to think about what this fast has done for you. How has it changed you? How as it changed your relationship with God?
Do you have a more intimate relationship with God? Go back over your journal and see where God has met you already. Take note of the things you are believing God for in the coming year.
Keep them in the forefront of your thoughts and prayers. Stir your faith to believe God for them. Continue to pray and seek the Lord for our jubilee service that all who attend it will be set free from every bondage, every addiction, every sickness and disease. I know that is a big dream but I know we serve a big God.

Message From Pastor Jim 1-21-2010

Today let us consider the words of Jesus in the garden of Getsemane. "not my will but yours be done" We all remember that this Jesus at his greatest hour He was preparing to face the cross.
While He knew that this time of pain, suffering and sacrifice was the Father's will for Him, for the salvation of all mankind. He wasn't looking forward to what He was about to endure, however scripture says that for the joy that was before He suffered the shame of the Cross. That joy was your and my salvation He loves us so much he considered his suffering of little consequence.
We must understand that God wants the same from us that the word out of our mouths would be not my will but yours be done. we may not have a literal cross to face but I am sure that there are many things we must sacrifice for His will to done. Like our pride, our need to be right, our goals and ambitions, and many other things. we have spent that last twenty days sacrificing food for Him. Let us now move on to giving Him our lives to accomplish His will in us and in the world.

Message from Pastor Jim 1-19-2010

Isaiah 41:10-13 (the message) Don’t panic. I’m with you. There’s no need to fear for I’m your God. I’ll give you strength. I’ll help you. I’ll hold you steady, keep a firm grip on you. “Count on it: Everyone who had it in for you will end up out in the cold— real losers. Those who worked against you will end up empty-handed— nothing to show for their lives. When you go out looking for your old adversaries you won’t find them— Not a trace of your old enemies, not even a memory. That’s right. Because I, your God, have a firm grip on you and I’m not letting go. I’m telling you, ‘Don’t panic. I’m right here to help you

Take a moment and meditate on this passage. Can you wrap your mind around what God is saying, that He is upholding us. He is with us and we have nothing to fear. That every adversary will fail. God will be our strength, our victory. No enemy shall prosper against us even old foes will be vanquished. God has you and I in the palm of His hand. Promising to never let go, to always be right there with us. Thank God for His care, protection, And faithfulness. You and I must keep these words in the forefront of our minds to remind us that God is with us and He will deliver us from ALL our enemies. I don't know what you are facing what foes you are battling but I know that if you let Him God will be your victory.

On our eighteenth day Remember:
Continue in prayer and meditate on God's word
Claim the victory God has given you
The temptation to give up can seem daunting

Message From Pastor Jim 1-17-2010

Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

This verse is an encouragement to us as we fast and pray and wait on the Lord. He promises that He will renew our strength. He will give us supernatural strength, a strength that comes from communion with Him not from food but from the "Bread of Life" Jesus Himself. I love that the verse doesn't end there, he goes on to tell us that He will do more than just sustain us He will give us the strength to soar like the eagle of the storm. We will have strength to do more than just muddle through life and its trails we will rise above them with strength, power and courage of the eagle. He will infuse us with the Holy Spirit power so that we will not have to drag ourselves though everyday life but run and not grow weary. How many of us could use that kind of strength and power? Then simply take the time to wait on God and let him renew your strength, in your body, soul, and mind. It is available for all of us we must simply wait on Him in prayer and fasting.

On our sixteenth day Remember:
Continue in prayer and meditation
Reflect on how your fast is helping you grow spiritually
Your senses become more sensitive to your surroundings and especially the voice of God
Stay the course

Message From Pastor Jim 1-16-2010

I received this word of encouragement from Jentezen Franklin I thought I would share it with you. Pastor Jim

I know this past year has been a tough one. Maybe you have lost your job or seen your retirement dwindle. Maybe your marriage has been strained and family thrown into turmoil.
My heart aches for you . . . and I'm praying for you. But no matter what you've faced in 2009, I believe the New Year can be your turnaround year. The key is to set your priorities from the very start--keep first things first and God will take care of the rest.
The Bible says when you give God your first and best through FASTING, PRAYER and GIVING in the early days of the year, He will give you His best for the ENTIRE YEAR.
"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well" (Matthew 6:33, NIV).
I want to challenge you today to begin this year by putting God first. My wife Cherise and I start each New Year with the first fruits of fasting, prayer and giving and it has transformed our lives and ministry. Each January, along with fasting and praying, we give our first week's salary as a first fruits offering. Whether you can give one hour's wages, one day's pay or even one month's salary, God will honor your faithfulness.
Fasting, prayer and giving make up a three-step act of obedience commanded by Christ in Matthew 6.
1. FAST. If you've not already done so, I invite you to join the Fasting Movement and participate in our First Fruits Corporate Fast this month.
2. PRAY. Give God the first fruits of your time through prayer and study.
3. GIVE YOUR FINANCIAL FIRST FRUITS. Put action to your faith with an online first fruits offering today. "First fruits" is an offering of gratitude for blessings and faith for future provision.
Your first fruits offering will impact your entire year. And God will use it to help touch the hearts of hundreds of thousands of people around the world.
Remember, keep first things first and obey God's commands of prayer, fasting and giving, and He will take care of the rest.
Jentezen Franklin

On our fifteenth day Remember
Pray specifically for those things God has laid on your heart
Continue in prayer and meditation it is your source of strength
Keep writing in your journal

Message From Pastor Jim 1-15-2010

Sorry, I was unable to post yesterday life did not permit it.

Isa 9:5 (The Message) The boots of all those invading troops, along with their shirts soaked with innocent blood, Will be piled in a heap and burned, a fire that will burn for days!

God is promising that, The weapons that the enemy of your soul has formed against you will be discovered and turned onto the fuel that feeds the celebration fire of his defeat. A manifestation of that victory that God has wrought for you will be as evident as the light and heat given off by a large bonfire. God in Isaiah 54 He promises that no weapon formed against us will prosper. Our greatest weapons are prayer , fasting and giving When we practice these three disciplines we are truly doing effective spiritual warfare. I ask that you remember to pray that God will honor our fast with a mighty move of His Holy Spirit as we declare prophetically that this year will be a year of jubilee to all those who desire it to be. Pray for all those who those who will be in attendance at that service.

On day fourteen Remember:
Listen to your favorite CDS
Focus your meditation on listening to God's still small voice
Seek God for direction for the coming year
Ask God to make this your best year yet

Message From Pastor Jim 1-13-2010

Psalm 91:1-3 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!” For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper And from the deadly pestilence.

We need to make the presence of the Lord the place where we reside, the place we dwell.
In order to do this we first need to understand what that means. Does it mean I lock myself in my "prayer closet" and never leave? Do I spend all my time in church? That is not what means to abide in his presence. What it means is that through prayer, fasting, worship and study of the word you come to a place that His presence is always with you. Your "God conscienceness" is increased to the place that you are in continual communion with Him. You do not react in any given situation you respond out of love in the power and wisdom of the Holy Spirit. We walk in faith and not fear because we know He delivers us from the "snares" of the enemy. So we can face every day with boldness and confidence that He will be with you and wisdom a strength in every situation that comes your way. you can also always be ready for God to intervene with a supernatural expression of the Holy Spirit.

On our Twelfth Remember:
Pray specifically with a purpose
Hunger Pangs are normal
Feed yourself on the "Bread Of Life"
You should be feeling closer to God

Message From Pastor Jim 1-12-2010

Congratulations, We are more than half way there on our 21 day journey to a closer walk with God. Paul said in Galations 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Continue to remain stedfast in your endeavor to Know God better. I know that god honors a genuine fast and he promises that you will reap if you "faint not". What will you reap a deeper relationship with God first and foremost. James tells us "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." As we pray and fast I am sure that is what he meant by fervent pray. So share the desires of your heart and goals for the coming year and believe that God will meet you. Pray for me as your pastor for the word of the lord to be alive and vibrant in me. Pray for our church that the vision God has given us for this year and for the future will come to pass. Pray for our service On February 14 That God will bring to pass what we believe he has said to us that this service will be the beginning of a year of jubilee. Pray that everyone who attends will be set free from whatever they have become a slave to. Pray and ask God who you should bring to that service to be set free. Then begin to pray for them everyday that God will prepare their heart for a supernatural encounter with Him.

On your Eleventh day Remember:
Pray and meditate on the word as often as possible
Drink lots of water
Its normal to feel some level of discomfort
Rest as much as possible.

Message From Pastor Jim 1-11-2010

Psalm 63:1-5 Says "O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, In a dry and weary land where there is no water. Thus I have seen You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory. Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips will praise You. So I will bless You as long as I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name. My soul is satisfied as with marrow and fatness, And my mouth offers praises with joyful lips.

Here David is in dire circumstances, yet he longed for the presence of God more than ever. So much so that his flesh (natural man) even longed for Him. As we fast and pray during the next 11 days I pray that you come to know God with such passion that no matter what life sends your way it will not compare to your desire to know God. To see His glory and power. I want you to know that it from this kind of relation that the Holy spirit can flow out of in extraordinary ways. I pray the your heart is so filled with His presence during this time of dedication that the the Holy Spirit will flow from you. That the world we live in will be affected by our light. That the glory of God will change our world. I know it sounds unattainable but God can and will do it through us if we humble ourselves listen to Him and obey. Remember it only took twelve men to change world.

Message From Pastor Jim 1-10-2010

At this point you should be becoming more aware of God's presence all around you . Your hunger for Him should be intensifying. Your ability to discern the voice of the Spirit should be increasing. That being said journal what he is saying to you. Ask the Lord for wisdom and direction for the coming year. As he speaks to you write what he says down, then pray that He will do his part to see them accomplished. Asked the Holy Spirit to give the strength, power and wisdom to to your part. mix it with faith because without faith you can not please God. Then sit back and wait for God to move in your situation. Isaiah 58 :8-9 “Then your light will break out like the dawn, And your recovery will speedily spring forth; And your righteousness will go before you; The glory of the LORD will be your rear guard. “Then you will call, and the LORD will answer; You will cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’ This the promise of the Lord for those who are fasting with a pure heart. I pray that you see these things active in your life in the coming days into the new year.

On your ninth day Remember:
Maintain your journal
Continue to meditate and listen.
Each time you fell hungry seek the Lord

Message From Pastor Jim 1-09-2010

2 Corinthians 5:17 says "17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new".

Today is the eighth day of our fast, in scripture the number eight represents "new beginnings" . The Apostle Paul in Second Corinthians tells us we are new creatures in Christ. Today as we fast and prayer ask the Holy Spirit to show what the verse means to you in the coming year. Today being day eight of our fast let us make this verse personal. That from today we will be the new person God has created us to be in Christ. This verse is written in the present tense teaching us that is is an ongoing process in our lives not just a conversion experience. I encourage to seek the Holy Spirit for a vision of who you are in Chi st and allow him to make you that person. Put all the "old things" behind you God has said they are they are "passed away". I believe the old things are the sins in your past the things that God has already forgiven you of, they are also all the things that may have happen since then. What I mean by that is sins, mistakes, and shortcomings that have occur ed since then since they are in the past even if they happen this morning. They are also the old way you saw yourself, your old way of thinking, acting. and responding. So let the NEW YOU come forth toady and let it be the beginning of that new person being who you are. When the enemy tries to cause you to behave like the old man simply say to yourself I am not that person anymore and I will behave like him.

On the eighth day Remember:
To Stay in God,s word
You are a new person live like it
You Will begin to find that "sweet spot" in God's presence as if you entered into the Holy of Ho lies.
Seek God's direction for your life in the coming year
Prayer for the church that the vision God has given us for this year will come to pass

Message From Pastor Jim 1-08-2010

Today is day seven congratulations we are on third of the way there . It is very important that we feed on the word as we go deeper into our fast, Jesus said I am the bread of life. In John chapter 4 Jesus had been ministering for a long while and the disciples were worried that he needed to eat. When He percieved their concerns He said to them He had meat (food) to eat that they didn't know about. They asked if anyone had brought Him food Jesus answers them: My meat (food) is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. I encourage you to seek in prayer and ernestness more than ever before, that you may comee to the place where your comunion with Him literally becomes the "meat" that sustains you even in your natural body. Where Jesus truly becomes the bread of life. What is the will of God for us That by the power of the Holy Spirit we walk "even as He walked" . I Pray that you may come to know God as the one who sustains you with the "bread of heaven". That God may become even more real to you,
that you know Him more deepely that ever before.

On this seventh day remember:
Have plenty of water with you all the time.
Relax as much as possible
Continue to meditate and listen ( I emphasize the listen part)

Message From Pastor Jim 1-07-2010

I believe that God is raising up a people in these days that are no longer satisfied with church as usual. A people who hunger and thrist for God. Psalm 42:1 says " As the deer pants for the water brooks, So my soul pants for You, O God. Jesus said in Matthew 5:6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. As we are fasting and we feel the natural hunger, each time we feel hungry turn our attention to God and hunger and thirst for
Him. Psalm 42 speaks of an intense longing for water as if "dying of thirst" and suggest that our soul should long that way for God. If we are not cautious we can allow the things of this life to cloud our hearts and mind. We can end up just giong through the motions in life and if we are not on our gaurd uor relationship we God can suffer the same fate. As we continue on our 21 day journey determine in your heart and soul that this will be the begining of a deeper intimate relationship with God. That this year you will be one of those people who not only want to see "His kingdom come" but are willing to believe God at His word and use you as a vehicle of His grace to as Bill Johnson says "cause heaven to ivade earth. I know that seems like a lofty goal, but I know that as you humble yourself in fasting and prayer you taking the first step to allowing God in your life more that ever before. It is the kind of faith and desire that well bless the heart of God and ignite the power of the Holy Spirit in you. Keep up the good work.

On day six remember:
Concentrate on prolonged times of meditation and listening
Your senses will begin to heighten
Your body will continue detoxifacation weight loss will continue
Spend time in targeted prayer
Ask God to prepare you to be used by Him ( "let your prayer be Not my will but thine")

Message From Pastor Jim 1-06-2010

Paul in 1 Corinthians 6 tell us to worship God with our bodies I believe that is what we are doing as fast and pray for God to meet us in a supernatural way. The reason we pray, fast, do good works is to Glorify God. We are to glorify Him in all we do. I have been going through the book of Acts and I took note of every time there was a great move of god supernaturally it was followed by a conversion, from the in filling of the holy spirit in Acts 2 where 3000 where saved after Peter's sermon. So we are asking God to move among to see His will be done among us.
Pray for all the souls that will be awakened by God in the coming year. Pray for him to meet us with signs and wonders that we may glorify Him in the coming days and in the new year.

In day five Remember:
That your fast is a prayer to God in itself
Stay in the Word it is the bread of life
Pray specifically

Please Pray for a woman name Kerry she has reoccurring breast cancer. Paul told us in 2 Corinthians 10 " that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds" however I am reminded of the old proverb "that if you aim for nothing you are sure to hit it. " That being said as we fast and pray I believe we are using one of our most powerful weapons, but if we do not aim it we will not see what we are hoping for. Begin to focus and Target your prayers don't prayer generic prayers pray specifically for what is on your heart. Pray even more earnestly for the things that the Holy Spirit leads you to intercede for. I share yesterday the passage Isaiah about the kind of fast that God honors and it is a fast that causes us to care for the needy, heal the sick, set the captives free. So get ready take aim and fast and prayer to see situation in your life, or situation you are aware of that need be changed, healed an delivered.

On our forth day remember:
Listen as you Pray
Record His response to your prayers
Record the things His Spirit leads you to pray for.
you begin to settle in the fast

Today is day three and this is typically the toughest day of our 21 day journey. You are passing a crucial hurdle on your way to our goal. So don't give up stay focused, stay hungry, and stay in communion with God. In Isaiah 58:6 God says : “Is this not the fast which I choose, To loosen the bonds of wickedness, To undo the bands of the yoke, And to let the oppressed go free And break every yoke?" As we fast keep these things on the top of your prayer list that God may move in our midst this way. My purpose for fasting is to see God move in our church according to this verse. I am believing God for miracles of healing and deliverance addiction broken the emotionally oppressed set free in the church services following our fast. I have felt led to a forty day fast. Jentezen Franklin teaches that this is a dominion fast. I am believing for God to break all the yokes of oppression off all those he sends our way. I am asking God to break the yoke of oppression that seems to dominate this area. Have you been praying for your "hit list' daily? I suggest that you ask God if there is someone you know that he whats you to specifically intercede for and pray for them and invite them to our jubilee service.

On Our Third Day Remember:
Pray for encouragement
you will feel hungry

A Message from Pastor Jim 1-03-2010

Psalm 119:36-37 Turn away my eyes from looking at vanity, And revive me in Your ways. Establish Your word to Your servant, As that which produces reverence for You

Another translation says turn my eyes from worthless things. As we fast let us turn our eyes, our focus, from the natural things of life and focus more on the Lord and the things of the spirit. Some of us are so stuffed on good things, we have no appetite for real things, we are so filled with entertainment we have no desire for real pleasure. The pleasure that comes only from true fellowship with Christ. As we deny our body food let us feed on the word of God and allow God to establish his word in our hearts and mind. That we may be revived in our spirits by the Holy Spirit. Let your prayer today be for God to turn our eyes toward Him and revive his ways in us that this year will be our best year yet. I want you to know that worthless things are not only the many secular things that vie for our attention, but also can be when we focus on the hurts of the past. God is not a God of the past nor does He care about the things in the past once they have been forgiven they are forgotten forever by Him. God is a God of the future, he sees us through the eyes of potential, through the eyes faith. He sees as who he has destined us to be. When we turn our eyes on on the "worthless things" we allow the enemy to rob of our calling, our purpose, our destiny. Thinking on the "worthless things" steals our joy, our peace, our confidence and limits the work of the Holy Spirit in us.
Today is day 2 of our fast remember:
pray and stay in God,s word
conserve energy where possible
day 2 and 3 can be the most challenging
today your body starts burning fat for energy.

A Message from Pastor Jim 1-02-2010

Today is the first day of our 21 day fast for the Lord. We are setting ourselves apart for a time of focused prayer and fasting to the Lord. I have read that this can be considered a kind of first fruits offering, giving the first part of the year to Jesus our high priest. I would suggest that we begin our offering in the morning take the time you would spend having your morning coffee and eating breakfast and spend it in prayer, worship, and reading the word of God. Here are some practical tips
*Pray and meditate on God's word
*Drink lots of water (at least 8 glasses a day)
*Headaches are normal as are cravings for food, caffeine and sugar. Take an aspirin to relieve your distress if necessary
* Spend time listening to praise and worship music.
I would suggest that you write in a journal. Write the things that you desire form God from your fast, the things that the Holy spirit leads you to pray for, and any thought or impression you receive in prayer or studying the word.
The most important thing we can pray for are lost souls pray for them I would suggest that you make a "top ten list" of people for the Holy Spirit to draw into a right relationship with God
during your fast, and pray for them often at least daily.
May God bless you may the Holy Spirit increase in you and may you have a closer communion with the father is my pray for you all.

Happy 2010
Today we begin not only a new year but a new decade. We begin our fast tomorrow. I can think of no better way to face the challenges of the coming year than with an ever increasing relationsip with God. As we fast as a coperate body please remember to prayer for our church that every seat would be filled, that our desire to increase our commuinty outreaches come to pass, that God will bring as a church into a greater revelation of what it means to have His kingdom come. Please pray for me as your pastor as I believe God has clled me to a forty day fast and I covet your prayers for strength and wisdom. Pray also that this year will be a year of jubilee for all of us and the community around us.
